Shipt Fuels Michigan Food Access Expansion with Detroit Community Investments
With 1 in 6 Michiganders having low access to fresh food, local community initiatives focused on bridging that gap play a vital role in supporting neighbors in need. Brittney Smith, Shipt’s Director of Social and Community Impact, recently joined Erica Duckett of the Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation, to highlight how Shipt’s community investment programs are actively addressing food insecurity across Michigan.
Shipt’s community efforts have expanded throughout Michigan, supporting local organizations through its LadderUp Accelerator Program and various grant programs. This funding has helped sprout nearly a dozen community gardens and is providing local nonprofits with education, mentorship and financial resources. Across the state and in partnership with the incredible organizations already doing good work,these investments will drive forward this meaningful aspiration.
