Shipt and Target Announce First Recipients of New Garden Grants Program
Today, Shipt and Target are proud to announce the first recipients of our Garden Grants, a new initiative designed to support new gardens, garden expansions, and garden revitalizations in metros across the country.
Support for Blossoming Communities
Gardens play a vital role in strengthening communities, bringing generations together, and creating hands-on opportunities for people to learn about gardening and our food systems. These grants are designed to support the local nonprofits, schools, and community organizations that are already leading meaningful work that connects people to fresh food.
“This program reflects Shipt’s dedication to expanding access to fresh and nutritious food, and we’re proud to be able to invest in helping grow spaces that connect communities,” said Khadijah Abdullah, Vice President of Culture and Community.
Recipients in Birmingham, Ala., Chicago, Detroit, and New York City were awarded $6,000 each to support garden infrastructure, enhancements, supplies, and more. Read on to learn about the exceptional organizations chosen.
